Hui Yuan Christina Sun

explores spatial experiences through voyeuristic frames found in urban landscapes. Inspired deeply by her tertiary studies in architectural design and fascination with cinema, Sun creates scenes which magnify the ambience of spatial moments through colour and volume. Each work finds a new way of ‘breaking the fourth wall’ by puncturing the frame, allowing the viewer to step in to become part of the work. Her current series investigates the psychology of lingering in momentary architecture ‘interstitial spaces’ meant for passing through - a guard watchtower, a bridge, a subway station, a harbourside pier, a train carriage.
